Ridgefield Academy is an independent coeducational day school serving grades PreK-8. We are seeking a Basketball Coach for our Middle School basketball program for grades 6-8. This position is for the winter season beginning on November 25, 2023 and ending on March 7, 2024.
Responsibilities Include:
- Organize and lead practices to help improve athlete’s fundamental skills, form and stamina
- Maintain rosters and team records
- Mentor players to develop sportsmanship and respect for the game
- Coach games and motivate student-athletes consistent with the school’s athletic philosophy
- Be aware of safety conditions
- Adhere to the school’s mission and abide by the coaching handbook
- Communicate as needed with the Athletic Director
Requirements:
- Must have prior experience coaching basketball
- Must provide references and pass a background check
- Must have a High School diploma or GED and holding or pursuing an undergraduate degree
Coaching commitment is Monday through Thursdays from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Games are scheduled on those days at 3:45 averaging once a week. There are no weekend commitments.
This is a stipend position based on experience at $2000-$3000 for the season.
