Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Middle School Assistant Principal who is passionate about educating young adolescents. Candidates should be compelling educational practitioners who have a strong background in middle years education and are confident in their capacity to deliver a dynamic and positive experience for our students and their families.

Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the Middle School Principal on all school matters
- Fosters an atmosphere of respect, diversity, equity and inclusion
- Collaborates with the Middle School Principal and the academic leadership on the implementation of our Middle Years Program
- Monitors student progress, liaising with teachers, and supports faculty collaboration in our Middle Years Program
- Collaborates with the Middle School Principal in the staffing and hiring process
- Participates in the annual teacher goal setting and teacher appraisal process
- In collaboration with other members of the Middle School team, assists with student support services including academic, social emotional and learning needs
- Helps organize and coordinate the beginning end of the year retreats and other student life events as needed
- Serves as the Principal’s designee during his absences from school as needed
- Follows up with students, parents, colleagues, the Middle School principal and other members of the Middle School team on all discipline matters from beginning to end
- Implements and promotes Restorative Justice practices
- Coordinates and implements our Advisory Program
- Collaborates with the Middle School principal and Middle School counselor on designing and implementing our wellness program
- Collaborates with the Middle School principal, High School principal and the admissions team on student retention and the transition to International High School
- Attends the Academic Council, students meetings, conseils de classe and evening events as needed
- Actively monitors hallways and common areas during breaks, recess and after school, and oversees the hallways supervisors. Is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the learning environment
- Coordinates and supervises the study hall program and administration of makeup tests
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience, preferably with Middle and/ or High School students
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in relevant field, Master’s degree in Education or Educational leadership preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents & colleagues
- Positive history of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators
- Speaking French is a plus
- Experience in MYP/IB schools is a plus
Salary range for this position: $110,000 - $125,000 depending on experience and qualifications
