Mid-Level Back-End Software Developer

We are seeking a Mid-Level Back-end Software Developer to become an integral part of our team! You will be responsible for creating and modifying web application software or programs. This position will require a Department of Defense security clearance. This position is flexible with some remote work from home and on-site work.

Role:

Mid-Level Back-end Software Developer duties and responsibilities will revolve around the full life cycle of software application development and being able to quickly learn and apply new technologies. Your role will play an integral part in a work environment comprised of a multi-organizational group of software engineers operating as one development team. You will create applications aimed to solve industry-wide problems while simultaneously satisfying customer requirements and expectations.

Software Developer Job Duties:

As a Mid-Level Back-end Software Developer you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing network-centric, intelligence applications comprised of a sophisticated technology stack that may include the following technologies:

· Java, Springboot, HAL, JUnit, JavaDocs

· SQL & NoSQL Databases, MongoDB, ElasticSearch

· Amazon Web Services, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Containerization

· HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, JSON, Restful APIs, React, Bootstrap, Ajax

You would be responsible for performing product design, programming, unit testing, bug verification, and release testing. You will definitely be asked to operate in an agile team setting, with supervision. Our work environment requires developers who dedicate time to learning newer technologies and identifying how these can be used to solve current software challenges. ● End-to-End System Analysis & Design

○ Participate in various process steps within an agile software development lifecycle

○ Support usage assessments and interface design tasks

● Software / Application Development & Architecture

○ Enhance & maintain programs; Develop new applications as directed

○ Assist in system design projects with multi-company participation

○ Support application deployment and installation

● Database Analysis & Design

○ Assist in design and development of data persistence activities (RDBMS & noSQL)

○ Support database monitoring activities

○ Perform data queries and basic analyses

○ Integrate applications with database solutions

● Testing

○ Assist in Quality Control testing activities

○ Design test cases

○ Implement documented test cases using testing frameworks

○ Perform tests

○ Identify and correct or communicate issues with the team

● System & Network Security

○ Assist in implementing user access control mechanisms

○ Develop secure applications based on industry defined security requirements

○ Support security-related tasks

○ Maintain compliance with contractor security standards

● Technical Product Knowledge

○ Assist in the evaluation of various software products

○ Stay current with industry trends and how they may impact team initiatives

○ Assist colleagues in the implementation of technical products or solutions

● Technical Communication

○ Assist in the documentation of system features and performance

○ Document basic business problems and technical work processes followed during work activities

○ Assist in answering basic technical questions in a timely basis

○ Gain an understanding of user requirements and provide standard solutions

○ Assist in generating design specifications/business case

Clearance:

· Eligible for or currently possess active DoD TS/SCI clearance, which requires US citizenship.

Skills and Qualifications:

• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience)
• 3 years of experience software development
• Java and XML technologies, security APIs
• Experience with object-oriented design and programming
• Amazon Web Services and AWS Cloud Infrastructure
• Kubernetes/Docker (Containerization technologies)
• Involvement with relational databases and noSQL databases (Postgres, MongoDB, MySQL)
• Web services (REST)
• Shell scripting

Desired Skills:

• Web languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Demonstrates capability in the analysis of requirements and the developing software solutions for web interfaces and graphic user interfaces, databases, scripting, and application software
• Knowledge of modern software development best practices and techniques
• Consistent use and knowledge of common version control systems, such as Git
• Effective unit testing and documentation habits
• Experience with relational database architecture, design, and implementation.
• Experience performing software engineering tasks to include design, modification, development, and implementation of software programming applications and software systems.
• Experience articulating and developing system and sub-system architecture, requirements and design documents.
• Experience in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software, and development of test plans and procedures.
• Ability to provide technical support to project team members to ensure compliance with software engineering standards.
