Description
The Azure Data Engineer will serve a critical role within the Business Analytics team and be crucial to the team's overall performance and growth. The Azure Data Engineer will architect and lead major analytics projects with the latest Azure Data Services.
The Senior Consultant will work under the direction of the Product Development Director, to enhance DataConnect, the next level manufacturing data estate. The Azure Data Engineer should be comfortable working in a remote, unsupervised manner, where milestones and stand-up meetings will be used to gauge performance and effectiveness. The Azure Data Engineer may also assist with implementing or supporting the Data Estate solution at MCA clients.
Responsibilities
Provide Architectural and Design consultative services to clients regarding their preparedness for enterprise levels of Data Warehouse utilizing Microsoft's SQL Server and other RDBMS Platforms.
Provide expert architecture guidance on Data Warehouse, Cube and Data Warehouse/ BI concepts and technologies.
Develop and design key performance indicators based on analysis and requirements gathering with the customer.
Document accurate logical design and technical architectural documents for analytics solutions.
Define BI standards, guidelines and best practices for requirements gathering, development and build phase management.
Full BI application lifecycle development, from envisioning of features through to their end development into production.
Engineering excellence standards and implementation within a data-driven solution environment.
Work across technologies to design, develop and deliver the best and most practical BI solution given the current customer landscape.
Work within the Microsoft Azure Data Services to design, develop, and deploy complex data pipelines (CI/CD)
In designing analytics solutions:
Use bronze, silver, gold approach in Delta Lake
Use Azure Bicep or Terraform to quickly deploy Infrastructure as code
Assist clients with troubleshooting current analytics solutions and upgrading them to the latest technology
Develop and improve internal assets and solutions as well as solutions used for client projects.
Strong relationship-building abilities with clients and long-term accounts
Continually keep Azure Data Services knowledge up to date with new features and functionality and share this knowledge internally
Qualifications:
7+ years analytics development
7+ years of experience leveraging two or more of the following languages: TSQL, R, Python
7+ years Data Warehousing (SQL), ETL (SSIS), Analysis Services, MDX, and/or equivalent Data Warehouse platform development experience, such as Oracle Database
Ability to design Data Warehouse solutions architecturally with Microsoft solution concepts using ETL, SQL Server and Analysis Services (SSAS/SSIS), Data Warehouse strategy and design, data mart strategy and design, along with overall reporting and analytics landscape design and architecture
3+ years Microsoft Power BI experience
Strong knowledge in data pipeline solutioning in Azure
Experience in Spark Databricks and coding experience in Python or Scala
Comfortable creating CI/CD pipelines, preferably in Azure DevOps or Github
Comfortable working with TSQL
Excellent technical writing skills (documentation skills)
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to adjust working schedule to meet business demands
Ability to work in fast-paced, sometimes high-pressure situations
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of education and experience preferable
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in manufacturing and/or oil & gas
Knowledge of Dynamics365 Finance and Operations (ERP)and/or Dynamics365 Customer Engagement (CRM)database structure
Understanding of the concepts related to dimensional modeling
Previous customer facing work experience
