Microbiologist

Digipath Labs is an ISO-17025 accredited lab that operates under the newly revised 2017 standards. The lab's mission is to ensure that cannabis-based medicines comply with Nevada State guidelines by testing for contaminants such as microbes, mycotoxins, heavy metals, pesticides, and residual solvents. Additionally, the lab conducts visual inspections for foreign matter and analyzes cannabis flowers for moisture levels to ensure proper curing, as well as edibles for water activity.

Must have experience with:

• Pathogen detection using cultural, ELISA, real-time PCR methods
• Bacterial enumeration using 3M Petrifilm and other methods
• Assign a unique ID to each sample, data interpretation of each sample, and monitor the completion of tests as necessary. Great attention to detail.
• Review, sign off, and transfer all data to LIMS system for Certificate of Analysis preparation
• Prepare test aliquots, solutions and reagents for sample analyses
• Ensure proper upkeep of laboratory notebooks and/or logbooks.
• Monitor and maintain the operational readiness of standard laboratory equipment and instrumentation
• Assist with disposal of lab-generated waste
• Monitor temperature throughout the lab and lab equipment daily using BlueLine temperature monitoring system.
• Correctly follow Standard Operating Procedures and basic laboratory etiquettes.
• Experience with Aseptic technique in a lab setting.
• Understand how to interpret and calculate CFU counts.
• Understand how to prepare dilutions
• Experience with proper pipetting techniques.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
