Mgr, Software Development

As a Manager of Software Development, you’ll be responsible for the management of a team of software engineers who deliver WiFi Platform solutions and releases supporting the Advanced WiFi Platform. Primary responsibilities include day-to-day management of software engineers, coordination with release management and firmware delivery teams, OEM and chipset vendor management, planning, and reporting.

You should have experience delivering software on customer premises equipment, embedded C on Linux, and have a solid understanding of home networking, WiFi, and/or service provider networks. You should be curious about how complex systems work, have an eye for high quality software, and be an approachable, expert in your responsible domain.

As a Mgr, Software Development, you’ll be responsible for management of a team of software professionals who deliver customer-facing and back office software solutions. Will also be responsible for daily leadership of the team as well as future planning of complex projects.

WHAT OUR SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER ENJOY MOST

• Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
• Manage a development team that operates cross-functionally with product, operations, and testing teams to ensure quality and timely delivery of code.
• Provide team support and direction on shifting priorities for new and existing projects as well as enterprise initiatives, organizing and delegating work as needed.
• Implement software proposals and estimates scope of work.
• Plans for and aligns resources for completion of work.
• Works closely with cross functional teams on resource allocation, budget implications and timeline considerations.
• Escalation point for internal partners to assist in resolving roadblocks and mitigating risks to ensure successful on-time software product delivery.
• Ensure adequate project documentation is created.
• Provide input to management regarding technical issues, strategic planning of projects, system operations, and new Software Development and deployment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM

Required Qualifications

• Experience:
  • Software Engineering experience – 5+ years
  • Leadership experience – 2+ years
    

• Education:
  • BA/BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, related field or equivalent work experience

• Technical skills:
  • Knowledge of Java, JavaScript or Python and modern software approaches and architectures Agile experience

• Skills:
  • Knowledge of company products and services
  • Working knowledge of Software Development and delivery
  • Leadership skills and ability to build and develop teams
  • Attention to detail and quality with effective problem solving and communication skills
  • Demonstrated in-depth drive about automation, testing, and code qualit

• Abilities:
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner
  • Ability to understand and grow technical knowledge in areas of Software Development and delivery
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

The pay for this position has a salary range of $98,900.00 to $175,300.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses.
