Salary Range: $90,000 - $106,500
#LI-BNSFDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct and deliver courseware and programs in a formal classroom environment and in the field. (Approximately 25% travel may be required) Conduct training assessments to determine technical training needs of locomotive mechanical employees and supervisors working in the Locomotive Mechanical Department. Plan, design, and develop technical e-Learning courseware and training programs to meet the Mechanical Department's technical training requirements. Work closely with the Mechanical Department providing consulting services and technical assistance. Serve as a technical advisor and subject matter expert for the TTC Development team, System Safety and Rules, assisting with rules development and compliance. This is a developmental position.
Manage the design, development, implementation, delivery, maintenance and continuous improvement of all MT/EFLS curriculum. Manage the development of new technology training tools to efficiently and in a timely manner deliver training to BNSF supervisors (MT/EFLS) and the railroad industry (NARS); analyze and improve student production effectiveness and efficiencies.
Manage department capital and operating budgets, analyzing for cost effectiveness and accuracy, to include development and oversight of the NARS-BNSF Business Plan.
Complete assigned duties as required by the Director, Training Services and Support.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must have worked in the Mechanical Department for a minimum of five years. Candidates must have thorough technical knowledge of locomotive mechanical systems and a working knowledge of locomotive FRA and BNSF requirements. Applicants must have leadership skills and the ability to work independently, the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and must function well within a team environment. Candidates must have proficient written and oral communication skills. Candidates must be experienced in the use of the following computer applications: Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Scheduled employees applying for this position must have successfully completed the supervisor assessment program. Experience delivering material to adult students is a plus.
