MFC KINSHIP SPECIALIST PT/PRN - Monroe

The Kinship Specialist shall be responsible for:

1. Conducts kinship caregiver orientations and 12 hour training curriculum to families in the certification process.
2.  Completes home inspections, home study/psychosocial evaluations, and collects all documentation required for certification of kinship home.
3. Provides support to kinship families for 90 days following certification by providing access to information and resources, phone calls, and in person visits to the home when warranted.
4. Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and be computer efficient.
5. Must be willing to travel throughout the state when performing recruiting functions.
6. Performing other duties as required

1. Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and at least two years of related service.
2. Must have a fundamental love for others and a desire to be an agent for change in their lives.
3. Must have empathy for others and practice the Golden Rule in relationships.
4. Must be an active, eager learner and willing to try new methods.
5. Must possess a strong sense of personal authority, maturity and integrity for agency-wide leadership roles.
6. Must possess strong leadership skills to promote staff unity, staff morale and cooperative relationships among various agency departments.
7. Must have demonstrated an appreciation for the value of maintaining a culturally diverse staff, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse staff and the ability to communicate effectively with all staff members.

6. Must be able to function in many different roles and participate effectively in the life of Louisiana United Methodist Children and Family Services.

EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS

Time on Duty:            To be arranged so as best to accomplish the work to be done.

Salary:                         As provided for in the agency’s current Annual Budget.

Benefits:                     As stated in Personnel Policies and Procedures and determined by the Board of Directors.
