Position Overview
The MLTC Department is responsible for enrolling and care managing a large number of new and existing members in the MLTC and Ultracare lines of business. Both during the enrollment process and thereafter, members accumulate records that require secure storage and, in some cases, strategic handling for future access as part of a formal NYS audit or other clinical or administrative review process. Under the direction of the Business Manager, the MLTC Medical Archives Intern reviews member records and supports the Enrollment Team and the Care Management Team in correctly handling, and, as appropriate labeling and uploading the files to Disease Case Management System (DCMS), the plan’s clinical record system.

*Note: This is a paid internship program. Prospective interns must be current students attending an accredited College or University and must be 18 years or older to be considered.
- Reviews member and non-member files in the extensive online archives (“H drive”).
- Determines whether the files belong to a current member.
- Based on the person’s membership status as well as the type of file identified, correctly labels and uploads the files to the Disease Case Management System (DCMS), the clinical record system.
- Once the files requiring storage are correctly stored, fully discard all reviewed files from the H drive.
- Prepares logs of work for review by supervisors and Regulatory/Compliance.
- Assists the department’s management team with special projects and tasks as assigned.
