Position Summary:

The MetroMarket Pricing and Procurement Assistant Lead job responsibilities will encompass a rich variety of tasks and skills, including, managing warehouse inventory, preparing mobile market vehicles, collaborating on food purchasing, Clover and P2 management to insure proper price matrix ,overseeing the bag-packing program at Operation Food Search, and building relationships with MetroMarket community members and community partners.

Essential Functions:

• Warehouse
  • Serve as onsite inventory control to ensure on time replenishment of all product.
  • Receiving and sorting incoming inventory.
  • Auditing MetroMarket storage spaces to insure minimal waste.
  • Provide quality control of products in the warehouse.
  • Preparing vehicle Mobile Market and van for on-site programming which includes restocking mobile market Inventory and back stock.
  • Communicate with the MetroMarket Warehouse Assistant Lead on all incoming orders and products to keep primarius up to date.
  • Complete janitorial duties, which include, but are not limited to sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash at warehouse.
• Mobile Market Program
  • Work with the MetroMarket Mobile Assistant Lead and MetroMarket Warehouse Assistant Lead to procure all produce for the MetroMarket Mobile Markets and indoor markets, select appropriate items, and ensure that key products are in stock.
  • Accept produce deliveries and assist with load on/load off.
  • Periodically serve as an onsite team member on the mobile route, helping Market Mobile Assistant Lead to coordinate grocery sales, deliver excellent customer service, and maintain an attractive, safe, and fun retail environment.
  • Organize and maintain all pricing in the Clover system according to the price matrix set forth by the MetroMarket Leadership Team.
  • Daily Clover management to gain insight on replenishment to make sure pricing and inventory movement reflects the needs of the community.
• Produce Delivery
  • Support the execution of St. Louis MetroMarket's produce delivery program, including fulfillment of all deliveries to partners, packing all boxes in the Operation Food Search warehouse, and managing MetroMarket's operations staff.
• Product Selection and Ordering
  • Collaborate with MetroMarket Warehouse Assistant Lead to make sure the replenishment and quality addresses the needs and preferences of MetroMarket community members , is appropriately priced, and prioritizes local goods where possible.
  • Collaborate with the MetroMarket Warehouse Assistant Lead -on the weekly process of selecting and ordering appropriate grocery products for the MetroMarket.
  • Manage the communication, and overall relationships within MetroMarket's network of suppliers, including local farmers, ranchers, and distributors.
• Quality Control
  • Act as the onsite gatekeeper for quality control, ensuring that all foods are fresh, safe, and visually appealing to our customers.
• Other duties and assigned.
• Attend weekly MetroMarket Leadership meetings to collaborate with the team to best serve the community and employee experience.

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED and/or 3 years related experience.
• Experience with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation of cultural differences is required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Retail experience, especially in the grocery or produce industry.
• Engaging personality, passion for customer service, and ability to work harmoniously with others.
• Detail oriented and organized, with proven ability to meet deadlines.

Special Requirements:

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must have Hep A vaccination or willingness to obtain vaccination prior to start date.
• Familiar with Trauma Informed Principles.
• Willingness to drive transit vans for food deliveries within the St. Louis area.
• Willingness to assist with other OFS duties as required or as assigned.

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

• The job is also very physically active
• Ability to stand for the majority of an 8-10 hour shift
• Ability to stand for up to two hours at a time and lift 40 pounds.
• Must be available for work 6am-7pm M-F and occasional Saturdays.
