Meter Reader

Guilford Water Authority is seeking a meter maintenance/reader.

Job Summary:

To help the meter crew perform daily job duties.

Responsibilities:

· Read meters monthly

· Install and repair meters as necessary

· Program and install MXUs

· Assist in rechecks and rereads

· Help with final readings

· Repair leaking meters

· Post shut off and termination notices

· Flip meter lids yearly and assists with service line inventory

· Terminate water service

· Perform flagging and traffic control on jobsite when needed

· Assist in repairing main and service line leaks

· Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

· Basic knowledge in plumbing

· Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

· Ability to perform physical labor

· Ability to use hand and power tools

· Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

· Must be available for on-call emergencies when scheduled

· Must be willing to continue to learn other aspects of the job

A Class B CDL operator’s license is preferred, but not required for this job opening.
