Chemours is seeking a Metallurgist Technician (Wet Separations) to join our growing Minerals team! This position will be available at our Mill Plant located in Nahunta, GA and will report directly to the GA Process Manager.
The Metallurgical Technician will be responsible for maximizing Titanium and Zircon grade recovery.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Adhere to all company safety, environmental, and health rules and all company policies and procedures.
  • Learn and understand the separation process.
  • Conduct training sessions for control room and plant operators.
  • Assist the process engineer in creating and refining Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Assist the mill manager with key mill adjustments, such as spiral resets.
  • Ensure the water treatment system is balanced and produces clean water.
  • Assist plant operators in emergencies and prioritization of tasks.
  • Perform daily assessments of spiral cleanliness.
  • Ensure meter and sampler accuracy by working with the process engineer and mill manager to conduct routine validations and consistent calibrations.
  • Ensure work notifications are entered in SAP for maintenance requests.
The following is required for this role:
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Extensive process flow and control room operations knowledge.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose plant issues.
  • Capable of working independently and assuming responsibility for coordination and execution of tasks.
