SalaryA Clare County metal manufacturer is seeking Metal Shop Workers to fill various departments including Fabrication, Welding, Assembly, Machine Programming, Paint Line, and Shipping & Receiving. These are full-time, temp-hire opportunities after a reliable attendance record has been demonstrated as well as a positive work ethic. Competitive benefits are available at that time! Starting compensation is $15/hr unless candidates have professional welding or machine programming experience ($18/hr for these). Various shifts are available including 1st shift: 5:30 am-4:00pm OR 6:00am-4:30 pm depending on department, 2nd shift: 4 pm-12 am regular / OT: 4 pm-2:30 am, and 3rd shift: 9:30 pm-8:00 am (Start on Monday 12 am so as to never work a Sunday). Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED, pass pre-employment background standards, and comply with a no THC employment policy. Applicants should also be able to read a tape measure to 1/32" and have beginner's understanding of how to read blueprints.
Responsibilities:
Welder:
- Perform welding operations using various techniques.
- Interpret blueprints and ensure quality welds.
- Maintain equipment and follow safety protocols.
Fabricator:
- Read blueprints, fabricate, and weld metal parts.
- Use tools and equipment to shape components.
- Collaborate with engineers and follow safety guidelines.
Machine Programmer:
- Program CNC machines and optimize processes.
- Troubleshoot errors and maintain equipment.
- Collaborate with engineers and operators.
- Machines used include: Mazak Vertical Machining Centers (VCN 700D and VCN 510C-II), Okuma LB3000 EX II ??? Lathe, Trumpf 3030 flat laser, Trumpf CNC Bender/Press Break, Timesaver (speed sander), Parts Shaker, Trumpf TruLaser Tube 5000, Trumpf Tubematic 3200 Watt Laser, Pines and BLM CNC tube benders, Crippa tube bending and endformer
Paint Line Worker:
- Prepare surfaces and apply coatings.
- Monitor quality and perform touch-ups.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
Shipping & Receiving Personnel:
- Receive, verify, and document incoming shipments.
- Prepare outgoing shipments and coordinate logistics.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and handle documentation.
Skills:
- Ability to pass a MIG welding test (if candidate is pursuing a Welding role)

Qualifications:
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to accurately read a tape measure to 1/32 of an inch.
- Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
- Must have reliable transportation in order to demonstrate a reliable attendance record.
