Job description

The Northwest Center @ Amazon team operates in a fast-paced and corporate environment where we provide professional 5-star customer service across several program divisions. The Park Ambassador Program will support Met Park and the guests that come to occupy and leverage the space. Staff would greet community members and employees to provide insight on local amenities and businesses in the area.

As aMet Park Ambassador, your role will be to provide friendly engagement with park goers through education and providing informational resources for the park and retailers in the area. While serving as an Ambassador for the park, you will be knowledgeable and familiar with local attractions, activities, and events. Daily activities include providing information on park programs, promoting activities, answering guest questions, supporting and educating guests around park rules, supporting onsite events, serving as a liaison for other vendors, and gathering metrics on park activities. Park Ambassadors will predominately be outdoors doing roves of the park engaging with the community, reviewing park conditions, and supporting activities taking place in the area. A successful candidate will have availability to work early mornings, evenings and weekends.
Schedule: 40 Hours per week betweenMonday - Sunday between 7:30AM - 7PM. Must be able to work a flexible schedule during hours of operation for weekdays and availability over the weekend.
Hourly Starting Rate Range: $24.40 per hour | Full Range: $24.40 - $29.04 per hour
Location: Arlington, VA & DMV Area

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Engage with guests in a friendly conversation, answer questions, solicit feedback, inform about programing, and educate around regulations of the space.
  • Proactively engaging with guests and patrons of the park creating a positive, empathetic, and professional interaction at all times.
  • Gather and track hourly counts of metrics and support other data collection efforts to provide insight on park usage.
  • Support onsite events and activities in the park. This can include placing signage, supporting guest check-in, light set up, and directing patrons in the area.
  • Reviews daily schedule for park events, activities, and information on local retailers.
  • Hand out marketing/information materials that support events, special programing, giveaways, or other information that will be beneficial for guests.
  • Attend regular meetings and trainings regarding park support, events, and program improvements.
  • Providing support to community marketing with additional tasks if park is restricted to guests due to events or weather.
  • Communicate with leadership, property management, janitorial, and security as necessary.
  • Execute operations consistent with established SLAs.
  • Be attentive and provide exceptional, professional customer service to Amazonians, clients, contractors, and visitors.


Needed Experience

  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working in events, park, or community facing engagement roles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required along with polite and professional etiquette.
  • Positive, upbeat attitude and able to get along with everyone.
  • Must be reliable and punctual with excellent organizational skills.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • Above average communication skills (preferred)
  • Experience using MS Office suite of products (preferred)

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-around on your feet for 2-4 hours at a time and up to 8 hours for the day.
  • Must be able to potentially lift or carry items up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires roving the park, so the ability to walk consistently within a 1.5 radius is required.
  • Must wear uniform, responsible for neat and clean appearance of uniform.
  • Ability to work independently and out of line of sight from other team members for all or part of shift.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain company owned equipment which can include items such as a radio and cellphone.
  • Ability to work on a tablet/computer.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to see both distance and details at close range, within a few feet of the observer (with or without corrective lenses).
  • Ability to identify and understand the speech of another person (with or without a personal auditory hearing device).
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
  • This is a dog friendly environment with over 1000 dogs on campus. Individuals with dog allergies or those who do not particularly care for dogs may not be the best fit.
