Messenger - Decatur, IL
Position Summary
This Messenger/Driver position is assigned primary responsibility of delivering mail and/or packages throughout ADM locations and around the city with the occasional need to make deliveries out of town.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and work as necessary to function effectively in a mail center environment including but not limited to walking long distances, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting heavy loads up go 75 pounds. Will walk 80% of the day.
  • Must be able to hear and speak clearly to effectively communicate with others.
  • Must be able to perform in a stressful environment.
  • Must have the ability to get in and out of vehicle all day.
  • Must be able to work and adapt in all kinds of weather including heat, cold, ice, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must successfully pass the Company background investigation.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license or be able to lawfully operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend, and communicate, orally and in writing, or possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.
Critical and Essential Job Functions
  • Must be able to safely operate and maintain a company vehicle, including but not limited to records of mileage, repairs, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to pick-up and deliver incoming and outgoing mail/packages multiple times a day.
  • Must be able to keep accurate records of all pick-ups and deliveries. Will be required to use Track Pad System for delivering and learn any software updates.
  • Must be able to learn and remember location of all Decatur ADM departments and facilities.
  • Must be able to successfully pass all safety and lifting classes, as well as hazmat classes and adhere to all guidelines.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • May be required to provide coverage as needed in other areas of mail center, including but not limited to answering phones, delivering internal mail, assembly of furniture, etc.
  • Must participate in the Performance Management process by creating annual goals and development.
Technical Proficiencies
  • Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to stay in constant communication with the team.
  • Must be able to read, comprehend and communicate, orally and in writing, and possess a high school diploma or GED equivalency.

  • Must demonstrate a high degree of honesty and integrity.
  • Must maintain flexible attitude with job assignments.
  • Must be dependable with respect to work attendance as well as completing assigned projects as directed.
