UW's School of Oceanography has an outstanding opportunity open for a Temporary Mess Attendant.
Serve as food service attendant aboard an ocean research vessel with a capacity for up to 60 crew and research personnel. Under direct supervision, perform routine and unskilled tasks related to the food service aboard an oceangoing vessel. Serve as assistant to the cook and baker in food preparation; clean vegetables or do other duties of comparable simplicity; serve meals to ship's crew and scientific party; stow and assist in inventorying provisions; clean and sanitize galley, messrooms and food storage spaces; perform related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications: U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner's document endorsed for "Steward Department (FH)." Basic Safety Training, VPDSD.
