Job Summary
The Cannabis Consumption Accessories Merchant will be responsible for creating an exciting and cool product assortment that connects with our retail brand for our customers. In this newly created position, the Merchant will be the AYR expert on competition, industry trends and translate these into innovative, cool, and relevant, products that deliver sales and profit targets.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify key accessory trends in the marketplace and translate these trends to our customers.
  • Drive strategic buy decisions and business performance of category.
  • Perform continuous competitor and market analysis by researching various mediums for emerging trends in categories, in addition to price points and promotional campaigns from competitors.
  • Manage and develop strong vendor relations through regular and consistent communication to ensure clear understanding of short/long-term goals and capabilities.
  • Negotiate product quality, purchase quantity, landed cost, and delivery with vendors.
  • Partner with Market GM, eCommerce, and Planning and Allocation teams to thoroughly understand our store, eCommerce, and wholesale customers to develop assortments to best fit their business needs.
  • Collaborate with visual merchandising to drive sales and gross margin through innovative and strategic in-store presentations.
  • Partner with marketing team to bring key strategies and promotional ideas to market in a compelling way for the consumer.
  • Achieve gross and net sales targets, manage OTB, inventory, gross margin and net profits through product selection.
  • Make recommendations for in season strategy changes as needed, communicate to cross functional team and lead the execution of those changes on a timely basis.
  • Solicit frequent feedback and integrate into future product strategies.
  • Purchase order management - reconcile and report out receipts on a monthly basis and demonstrate financial responsibility for success of business.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of retail merchant experience
  • Proven track record in success as a Merchant with the ability to translate and act upon financial indicators such as sales, gross margin, inventory productivity, sell-through and turn.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
