Dakota AgSynergy, a leading agricultural trading company, is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Grain Buyer to join our team. As a Grain Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in the origination and procurement of pulse crops (peas, lentils, chickpeas), oilseeds (sunflowers, canola), and cereal crops (wheat, durum, barley, rye). This is an exciting opportunity for an individual passionate about agriculture, with a keen eye for market trends and a proven track record in sales.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain relationships with farmers, and suppliers to ensure a consistent and reliable grain supply.
Execute strategic procurement plans to meet quality and quantity standards.
Stay in front of market conditions, industry trends, and competitor activities to make informed buying decisions.
Collaborate with internal teams to optimize logistics, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of grain products.
Attend weekly and/or biweekly meetings at our Bismarck, ND office.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in grain buying or agronomy sales preferred, specifically with a focus on pulse, oilseeds, and cereal crops.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of agricultural markets and commodities.
Self-motivated and results-driven with a passion for exceeding targets.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
Location Preference: Candidates within 150 miles of Bismarck, ND are preferred.
