Job Overview:

The MEP Specialist is responsible to assist in the planning, designing, and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering projects. They will analyze proposals and suggest improvements for system reliability, energy efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while supporting daily construction operations and facility maintenance handover.  Would be part of our essential Factory planning team responsible for large infrastructure expansions and improvement projects.  Design and construction experience in Manufacturing environment a huge plus.  Provide input on  coordination concepts, design and construction of MEP topics for Buildings and supporting equipment and infrastructure topics as well as with the process engineering groups to meet their requirements to implement new or upgraded production equipment.  

Responsibilities:

         Project Planning and Design: Coordinate and report status on MEP engineering projects to ensure efficient and effective systems integration to project lead.

         Cost Estimation: Assist in preparing project proposals, estimate costs, and recommend improvements for MEP projects.

         Progress Analysis and Improvement: Evaluate, and document project progress, recommending enhancements to project lead as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.

         Quality Control: Review and inspect proposed project plans, designs, and construction for quality assurance and compliance with industry standards.  Collaborate with Project Lead on questions or changes to the plans.

         Regulatory Activities: Perform reviews and collaborates with project lead related on  planning, designing, and directing MEP related to construction engineering projects, ensuring they meet technical and regulatory requirements.

         Problem Solving: Assist in the creation of project plans, functional standards, and cost-effective solutions for new construction projects. Propose resolutions to resolve challenges of varying complexity.

         Collaborative Engagement: Participate actively in scheduled team meetings, contributing insights and expertise to collaborative discussions.  Documentation of team project meetings.

         Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other assigned duties that contribute to the successful execution of MEP engineering projects.

         Provides technical support for structural analysis and failure analysis of buildings

         Creates detailed project plans and specifications for new construction projects

         Participates in regularly scheduled team meetings

         Will perform other duties as assigned

         Supervisory Responsibilities: The MEP Specialist collaborates with outside contractors as part of project teams.

         Financial Responsibilities: This role involves contributing to budget advice, participating in the tender process, and reviewing invoices and change requests.

Qualifications:

         Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.

         Experience: A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in MEP engineering projects, project lead, or project management.
