Responsibilities
Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Perform varies field inspections as needed in a different location.
- Perform Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Code & HVAC Inspection.
- Reporting and record keeping.
- Operational knowledge of field inspection equipment.
- Perform field inspection, testing and sampling as needed.
- Attend pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, partial and final inspection.
- Onsite project inspection of construction activities to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Coordinate / communicate with contractors regarding construction project activities.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Brough all non-conformance items to the immediate attention of the contractors.
- Working on the close out of the project at the final phase.
Requirements
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering college or university.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of construction inspection experience.
- OSHA-30 required.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of New York preferred.
- CCM preferred.
- Experience inspecting renovation and new building construction work in New York City, varied in size and complexity.
- Highrise experience preferred.
- Familiarity with construction industry codes.
- Ability to communicate with colleagues and clients of all levels.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to provide inspection reports in a timely manner.
- Works well with a team and individually.
- Must be able to read and understand plans and specifications.
- Keep up to date on a daily basis, all current projects via project managers and other inspectors. Communicate effectively with the client and project team.
