Plumbing/MEP Engineer Position Description

Overview:

The Plumbing/MEP Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of plumbing systems. This role also requires the engineer to leverage their technical expertise and market knowledge to identify new opportunities, and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

Responsibilities:

Design and oversee the installation of plumbing systems, ensuring compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations.

Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for all plumbing installations.

Coordinate with architects, builders, and other engineers to integrate plumbing systems into overall building design.

Conduct site inspections to ensure adherence to plans, specifications, and quality standards.

Provide technical support and troubleshooting during construction and commissioning phases.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in plumbing engineering.

Identify, assess, and pursue new project opportunities that align with the company's capabilities and growth objectives.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure repeat business and referrals.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and professional associations to enhance its visibility and network.

Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials, case studies, and proposals that highlight the company's MEP engineering expertise.

Provide input on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning to inform the company's service offerings and strategies.


Qualifications:

  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field a necessity.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in plumbing, with a proven track record in plumbing design and installation.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of business principles and experience in business development within the construction or engineering sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in MEP design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP) and Microsoft Office Suite.
