ViroCon, a member of GBA Companies, is seeking a MEP Commissioning Technician to join the team!

The MEP Commissioning (Cx) Technician will work closely with the team of engineers and technicians to provide innovative solutions to our clients. We offer technical coaching in a collaborative environment that encourages employee growth and development. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who takes pride in their work and actively pursues opportunities to learn and assist others when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform commissioning and retro-commissioning tasks
• Prepare templates, documentation, and calculations for testing of systems
• Perform functional testing of complex building systems for optimization
• Assist with the verification of permitting and code requirements
• Serve in client facing capacity as company representative. Interacts with contractors, engineers, and project team.
• Assist with facility evaluation and engineering studies
• Troubleshoot complex MEP systems
• Perform Testing, Adjusting and Balancing of HVAC systems
• Assist with Air Flow Visualization studies
• Perform HEPA Filter testing
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Trade or Vocational school preferred
• 1 year or more of related industry experience preferred (Trade school or experience counts as equivalent).
• General understanding of HVAC system concepts and associated controls systems
• Adept at working on fast-paced projects
• Proven ability to prioritize effectively
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Willingness to seek industry certifications
• Ability to travel up to 30-50% of the time as needed (home most weekends)
