Our team of two psychiatric nurse practitioners and fifteen psychotherapists are committed to improving the lives of our clients through compassionate and personalized care. We are currently seeking a reliable and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our team and contribute to our mission of promoting mental wellness.

We are looking for an employee who can bring energy to the job and help clients feel at ease when talking with them on the phone. Our goal is for clients to feel that we are excited that they called and we are excited to help them find the right resources/help to get them feeling better. Having enthusiasm about helping people is a must.

This job is located in Timonium, MD.

Job Summary: As our Medical Receptionist you will be the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the front desk, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, communicating with our provider team and ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for everyone who enters our practice. You will play a crucial role in maintaining organized administrative processes that contribute to the overall efficiency and success of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors with a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Answer phone calls, handle inquiries, and provide information about our services.
• Schedule and confirm appointments, ensuring proper coordination of patient schedules.
• Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
• Verify insurance information and assist with billing inquiries.
• Manage patient check-in and check-out processes.
• Assist clinicians and therapists with administrative tasks as needed.
• Handle incoming and outgoing mail and correspondence.
• Maintain a neat and organized front desk area.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.
• Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure the smooth flow of operations.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is a plus.
• Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar role is preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and electronic health records (EHR) systems is an advantage. Knowledge of Athena EMR is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Proficiency in using office software and equipment.
• Compassionate and patient-oriented attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
