This position serves as the key customer service liaison between a member or customer hospital and the staff and leadership of an operation within a specific market. The incumbent bears around the clock responsibility to appropriately assess and manage specific needs of the customer or care provider as related to transport operations. In the absence of direct supervisor, the incumbent has responsibility to manage operation of an assigned base.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Associates Degree OR Completed Accredited Certificate Program OR EMT OR Paramedic OR Registered Nurse Program.
2. Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
EXPERIENCE:
1. Three (3) years of emergency medical services experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:
1. Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree in emergency medical technology, nursing, business or related field.

1. Assists in the provision of optimal transportation services to patients being transferred to or from assigned hospitals.
2. Establishes verbal communication links and relays verbal communications to all appropriate patient care representatives.

4. Accurately enters data and properly maintains the database utilized for the position.
5. Assists in the management of base operations.

1. Ability to lift, push, pull and transfer boxes and/or equipment up to fifty pounds.
2. Ability to twist upper body while moving boxes and/or equipment.
3. Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, reach, stoop, bend and crouch for extended time periods.
4. Ability to smell and identify odors.
5. Ability to use close, distant and peripheral vision, depth perception, and visual focus.
6. Ability to clearly hear and interpret voice and telephone communication.

2. Limited exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards may exist in these areas.
3. Within the hospital environment, the Transport Coordinator may encounter patients with communicable diseases.
4. Will encounter ambulances and other emergency vehicles and in doing so must expect exposure to electrical, mechanical and noise related hazards.
5. May be required to work long hours.
