Description:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. In general, maintain order throughout the facility and offers assistance to members and guests.
2. Be knowledgeable and acquaint members and guests about the YMCA, its programs, benefits, facilities, latest developments, and policies.
3. Be open, friendly, and approachable to members by listening to suggestions, responding promptly, and/or referring to Team Leader.
4. Promote interaction with and between members to encourage networking.
5. Maintain high standards of cleanliness by sanitizing equipment and surfaces, replacing paper towels, vacuuming, mopping, etc. as needed.
6. Handle minor facility repairs identified by Monitor, staff or guests to address safety concerns, potential hazards, and overall curb appeal.
7. Address member issues in a professional manner and fill out incident reports as needed.
8. Uphold child abuse prevention policies and checks.
9. Monitor and enforce policy compliance of gymnasium (outside of group exercise classes), fitness rooms, studio room, performance rooms, racquetball court, tumble room, fitness locker rooms, locker rooms, and annex.
10. Monitor building activities by conducting regular walk throughs for cleanliness, policy compliance, and ensuring that the building is secure.
11. Assist Courtesy Counter staff with prospect tours, membership applications, and program registrations as needed.
12. Identify opportunities for facility and program improvements.
13. Carry out other duties and assigned.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be 21 or older.
2. Excellent verbal communication skills.
3. Attention to detail.
4. High-level problem-solving skills handling difficult situations
5. Ability to identify and address maintenance or mechanical issues.
6. Professionalism when handling member and guest conflicts.
7. Demonstrate initiative and ability to problem solve.
8. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
9. Understanding of the importance of confidentiality and courtesy.
10. Able to articulate the YMCA’s Mission, values and focus areas.
11. Physical ability to provide tours of the facility.
12. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
13. Must be available weeknights from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
