Description
The Merion Cricket Club is looking for a customer service champion with strong communication skills and a passion for helping others. This role serves as the face of the organization and the initial point of contact for all members and guests. In addition to clerical tasks, the Front Desk Concierge is responsible for enforcing a variety of operational controls in a polite and tactful manner. This individual functions as a facilitator, engaging members, directing requests, and directing matters up the chain of command when necessary. The Front Desk Concierge is constantly promoting the mission, values and guiding principles of The Merion Cricket Club by maintaining an ongoing aptitude and command of club policies and initiatives.
General Accountabilities
- Enthusiastically greets and welcomes members, prospective members and guests. Represents the club in a professional manner at all times
- Maintains a good working knowledge of current and upcoming events
- Monitors facility access by upholding and enforcing club usage policies and protocols
- Serves as the first point of contact; provides front-line member & guest support. Answers questions in person, by telephone and emails; responds to inquiries and refers to the appropriate person, position or department.
- Makes dining and event reservations for all members and follow up when necessary
- Makes reservations for overnight accommodations, assist overnight guests with dining reservations as needed and compile and print reports.
- Adheres to all operational excellence standards related to cleanliness initiatives, great member experience and customer service
- Works closely with other departments and provides clerical assistance when needed
- Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Requirements/Skills
- 1-2 years Front Desk experience preferred
- Must be assertive, enthusiastic, and punctual
- Strong Computer literacy: Microsoft Office, reservation software (knowledge of Jonas a plus!)
- Must be customer-oriented
- Possess effective communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong organizational skills and problem solving capabilities
- Have the ability to anticipate the needs of our members
- High level of attention to detail
- Reliable and flexible with schedule
Work Environment
This job operates in an office environment where noise levels vary from quiet to loud throughout the day. This role routinely works with a combination of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and software. Individuals must be computer literate and comfortable working with a variety of computer software and information systems.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Part-time or full-time. Flexibility is a must. Schedule is varied consisting of daytime, evening, weekend and some holiday shifts and often changes week to week. Shift assignments are discussed at the time of hire and should remain consistent within reason.
