Member Account Specialist
Houston Federal Credit Union
Position Hours: 9:00am - 6:00pm Monday - Friday, rotating schedule for Saturdays 9am - 2pm.
Role:
To preserve the credit union's assets by controlling delinquent loan accounts, collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral and minimizing losses on negative deposit accounts.
Essential Functions:
- Contacts delinquent and negative balance accounts by phone and mail; takes appropriate action to bring current/positive.
- Analyzes financial situation of delinquent borrowers; makes recommendations to repossess collateral when other arrangements to bring the loan current are successful.
- Documents all contacts with detailed notes and reports on collections activity.
- Prepare reports as assigned.
- Testifies at legal proceedings as required.
- Informs management of trends in loan underwriting contributing to delinquent/charged-off loans.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements:
- Ensure timely contact with members to inquire about re-payment intent.
- Ensure timely contact with members to inquire about negative balance intent.
- Maintain accurate, timely and complete records of all collection and recovery activity.
- Provide informed and professional assistance and support to all members and associates, to resolve inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
Skills:
- Six months to two years of similar or related experience.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Must have good communication skills
- Prefer someone with the ability to communicate in Spanish and English
