About the Role:

The Park Program Planner is at the forefront of delivering a positive guest experience as a cultural ambassador and service leader. In this role, you would be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive programming calendar that fosters community engagement and placemaking for The Green at 320, a privately owned, public park space in downtown Chicago. Ideal candidate will be passionate about public and community programming and effective working independently and with groups. This role will be expected to working non-traditional hours and be confident in managing programs and events onsite.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive programming calendar that caters to the interests and needs of a wide variety of park visitors. This includes but is not limited to cultural events, live performances, fitness classes, vendor markets, educational workshops, and seasonal celebrations.

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee the logistics of all park events and activities, ensuring seamless execution from start to finish. This involves booking vendors, drafting layouts, creating signage, managing budgets, communicating details to various teams, and overseeing setup and breakdown.

  • Collaborate with the digital marketing and public relation teams teams to create a marketing plan that effectively promotes park events and activities through various channels, including social media, email newsletters, press releases, and community outreach. Capture content during events that can be used for future marketing use or to share on social media in real time.

  • Foster a sense of community among park visitors, building tenants, nearby businesses, community groups, and neighboring residents. Act as a liaison between the park and the community to solicit feedback and incorporate suggestions into programming efforts.

  • Manage the inventory of park assets including furniture, audio equipment, lawn games, tents, signage, and other amenities. Perform routine checks to ensure everything is in a working order and presentable condition. Schedule repairs and order replacements when necessary.

  • Monitor the success and impact of park programs through attendance records, participant feedback, and other metrics. Evaluate program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements based on data analysis. Prepare regular reports for property ownership and stakeholders to demonstrate the value of programming efforts.

  • Support the Meeting and Events Manager in external marketing efforts to drive space revenue and ensure awareness of events to tenants. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or professional hospitality accreditations preferred.

2-4 years of experience in a professional working setting, preferably in event planning, programs/events at a public park, museum, performing arts center or cultural institution.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Meeting and Events Planner position is $100,000 annually [or $48.07 per hour] and the maximum salary for the Meeting and Events Planner position is $110,000 annually [or $52.88 per hour]. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
