Medication Aide

Looking for a full-time experienced Medication aide to join our team!

Sunday and Monday 6am to 10pm

If you work the two complete shifts you are also entitled to an 8 hour Baylor pay.

Job Description: A Medication Technicians main responsibility is making sure that the residents in the facility are getting the proper medications. This involves following the prescriptions requested the resident’s physician or nurse.

· Assisting residents with proper medication as per the MAR’s

· Must be able to use any down time effectively.

· Reality Orientation and enhancing residents quality of life

· Must sign for all care provided.

Technician Duties:

· Works under the supervision of the Senior Medication Technician and the LPN on duty in accordance with NYS Department of Health Regulations.

· Attend all HHA meetings

· Maintaining a clean work environment.

· Keeping Med carts clean and organized

Skill Requirements:

Intellectual-

· Must be responsible, consistent and able to meet commitments

· Must have good judgment and know when additional assistance is required.

· Must be able to multi-task and be able to organize and structure responsibility.

· Must be able to adhere to all policies and procedures.

· Must be dependable and not have a history of call-ins.

Social-

· Good communication skills are necessary, if you are not a people person; this job is not a good match for you.

· Must be able to treat people who need assistance with kindness and respect, regardless of the patient’s mood or your mood.

· Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

· Able to maintain confidentiality at all times.

· MUST work well with all people and maintain a professional and mature attitude.

Physical requirements-

· Must be able to perform physical activity that require moving ones whole body, such as in climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending and pushing, where the activities often also require considerable use of the arms and legs, such as in the physical handling of materials.

· Employees must not have any weight restrictions, to avoid injury.

Compliance requirements-

· Must have Valid NYS Drivers license

· Must have documentation of MMR’s (Measles, Mumps and Rubella, showing an immune result.

· Must have current (within 30 days of employment) Physical.

· Must have current PPD test with a negative result.

· Must complete or attend all mandatory in services.
