Medical Transcriptionist

A Birmingham specialty medical group is looking to add an organized and professional Medical Transcriptionist to their team. The Medical Transcriptionist position is remote/home based, but will need to reside locally to Birmingham, AL.



Responsibilities:

• Transcribe physician dictation via voice files using Bytescribe server.
• Work from home with daytime hours of 7:45-5:00 CST.
• Comply with HIPAA NAPC standards for protected health information.
• Previous transcription for large practice preferrable.



Requirements:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of medical transcription experience.
• An understanding of advanced medical terminology.
• Typing speed of 70 wpm with 98% accuracy.
• Intermediate proficiency working with multiple screens, using Word, copy/paste transcribed notes to patient chart in EMR.
• Excellent grammar, punctuation and spelling is a must.
• Ability to work independently and follow directions after training.
• Must have reliable internet connection. Equipment provided.
