Effectively navigates and edits voice-recognized draft text in the Nuance Emdat eScription RH platform. Duties may also encompass traditional transcription of dictation by physicians and other healthcare providers including, but not limited to, history & physicals, inpatient progress notes, consultations, diagnostic studies, emergency department/urgent care notes, surgical procedures and specialty clinic visits. This is to be accomplished while maintaining a consistent editing/transcription average of 200 lines per hour.
Initial responsibilities may vary depending on demonstration of skills within various work types and specialties; however, editors are expected to become proficient with dictation by all providers and for all work types. As an editor gains expertise in speech recognition editing, they may serve as a resource to their peers educating and coaching them toward improvement in their level of efficiency and skill.
Additional responsibilities include accurate and timely manual creation of routine surgical reports (Care File) utilizing established Normals/Macros within the Emdat platform for participating ENT, Ophthalmologic and Urologic physicians. Editors will use initiative and independent judgment in the editing of these medical documents. This is a staff level position reporting to the Data Integrity Coordinator.
