PER DIEM Position!
Under general supervision of the section supervisor, the Medical Technologist is responsible for accurately performing a variety of manual and automated laboratory testing utilizing independent judgment and maintaining responsibility for assigned duties. Performs routine moderate and high-complexity laboratory testing, quality control, calibration, maintenance and proficiency testing in accordance with current laboratory procedures.
Must be familiar with all phases of the laboratory including hematology, coagulation, chemistry, and urinalysis. Experience with manual WBC differentials is required.
This is a per diem position. Must be available weekdays.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Windows.
- Able to communicate and write in English for the communication and documentation of work duties.
- Clinical internship as part of an Associate or Bachelor's degree program or one year post degree experience within a CLIA laboratory performing high complexity testing required
- Bachelor's degree from a university or college in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS), Medical Technology (MT), or Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) or
- Bachelor's degree in related science with experience defined above.
- Certification eligible: ASCP or equivalent (NCA, AMT, HEW) required
- MT, CLS, MLS (ASCP) or equivalent (NCA, AMT, HEW) preferred
