Qualifications:

• Completed high school diploma or equivalent from an accredited body.
• Completed a medical terminology course or have 2 years’ experience using medical terminology
• Proficient with typing and computer skills
• Possess professional, courteous, and effective communication skills

Schedule:

• 1% PRN
• To fill in for vacation and sick days, etc.

Essential Job Duties:

The Medical Scribe (MS) will act as the documentation specialist for the Emergency Department physician. The MS will enter patient rooms with the physician and transcribe the patient assessment as stated by the physician into the electronic health record with a goal of increasing efficiency and productivity of the physician. Additionally, the MS imports patient history into the EHR and assists staff in notifying the ED physician when all lab and/or x-ray results are resulted to expedite patient care. During downtime, the MS will assist in the ED unit operations by providing drinks or snacks to patients with the RN or physician approval, cleaning patient stretchers, helping to boost or reposition patients, or other tasks as assigned
