SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a Medical Scribeto join our Admin Physician Services team. This position is casual, and does require a minimum of 24 hours a week, days. (rotating).
Purpose of this position: Assists the provider in expediting patient care by documenting all provider/ patient interactions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accompany the provider into the exam room to document provider/patient interactions
- Accurately documents history, physical examination, laboratory, medication, and radiology notes as verbalized by the patient and provider
- Transcribes dictated information from the provider into the medical record
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED, plus two years of post-secondary education
- An approved equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two years of college, preferably with coursework in medical transcription, medical terminology, and human anatomy
- Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment
- Experience using an electronic health record system
- Ability to work closely with medical professionals during interactions with patients in a hospital or clinical setting
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to listen carefully and accurately transcribe verbal communications on a real-time basis
- Strong keyboarding skills to facilitate the transcription of communications
- Ability to work well in a critical environment and be detail oriented
- Strong organizational and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize work based on volume and deadlines
