POSITION SUMMARY
Our Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) are field-based, scientific, medical experts. As an extension of US Medical Affairs, you will execute strategic opportunities that build physician advocacy aligned with HCP's interest within defined region. This role serves as an advocate for patients by driving ALS disease awareness and addressing unmet medical needs.
Additionally, you will participate in the execution of advisory board meetings and other programs within your defined region.
In this role you will be providing credible and unbiased scientific information, executing strategic medical affairs projects and supporting home office medical activities in collaboration with a matrixed regional team. This role will also develop and execute strategic medical engagement plans which drive strong relationships with key clinics to understand patient management, and study capabilities and opportunities to apply local medical resources to improve ALS patient care. You will also work with regional account teams to deliver presentations in support of ALS patient access.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Respond to questions from HCPs with fair and balanced scientific, medical responses within defined region
  • Manage questions around safety, adherence and off label data on Amylyx's ALS products
  • Support ongoing medical/scientific education to Amylyx's matrixed field teams
  • Support clinical initiatives across Amylyx's ALS portfolio including site recommendations, trial recruitment, registry and presentation of final approved data
  • Develop and execute prioritized plans within defined region for HCPs/institutions/societies
  • Execute a strategic, innovative regional plan of medical and therapeutic area objectives, in collaboration with US Medical Affairs, Scientific Communication, Health Economics Outcome Research (HEOR) to address the specific needs of key institutions and HCPs.
  • Represent Amylyx medical affairs at defined national, regional and local congresses, educating on Amylyx's ALS products, collecting competitive intelligence and reviewing data (symposia, abstracts, poster presentations, etc.)
  • Support commercial team functions within defined region
  • Maintain compliance with all internal and external legal and regulatory guidelines

REQUIREMENTS
  • Advanced degree (e.g., PhD, PharmD or MD)
  • Prior experience as an MSL preferred or relevant experience in medical affairs
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate scientific/medical benefits of pharmaceutical products to the medical community
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively facilitate meetings
  • Ability to work independently and function successfully as a matrixed team member
  • Office is home base. Must be able to travel within assigned region 3-4 days per week
  • Travel to medical meetings, team meetings and other group meetings (will require some weekends)
  • Must have a valid driver's license

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Neurology experience, neuromuscular disorders experience beneficial
  • Established networks with neurology HCPs within defined region
  • 2 - 3 years of pharmaceutical experience in Neurology
