We are a very busy rheumatology practice. We are looking for someone to join our team to assist with creating, revising, and proofreading our office summary documents.
This job could be a part-time job or a full-time job. Our office is open Monday - Thursday so the hours that you work from home are flexible.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with creating, revising, and proofreading rheumatology office visit clinical summary documents.
- Edit documents, direct documents for approval, and disseminate approved documents.
- Work closely with clinic personnel, insurance department, and billing department for compliance in documentation.
- Must adhere to next-day turnaround.
- Must demonstrate flexibility, consciousness, and the ability to adapt.
- Must be a team player. Must demonstrate ability to communicate with team members and administration.
Job Requirements:
- Must be a resident of the United States; resident of west Alabama near Tuscaloosa- Northport area is a plus.
- Associates degree, 4 year degree, or certificate of completion of recognized medical transcription course preferred. Prior legal assistant or paralegal experience is a plus.
- Medical Transcription or medical document review experience is preferred.
- Must have good English language skills: grammar, punctuation, spelling. Proficiency in knowledge and use of 3rd edition of Book of Style for Medical Transcription is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnostic codes, CMS guidelines, and other insurance billing practices is preferred.
- Proven experience as an editor or proofreader in a medical setting.
- Strong knowledge of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) guidelines and regulations.
- Proficient in project management techniques to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional writing skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is required, rheumatology/immunology preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must own or acquire adequate hardware utilizing Microsoft Windows format sufficient to accomplish the job responsibilities.
- Experience with NextGen EHR product is a plus but not required.
- Must uphold confidentiality regarding sensitive documents and must sign Employee Agreement to Maintain Confidentiality of Records for HIPAA compliance.
