Kadiak, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Medical Records Custodian with a Public Trust Clearance in support of Kadiak and the USDA – Animal & Plant Health Inspection Services (APHIS). This is a Remote opportunity.

Work Hours:
  • Services are to be provided between the hours of F 0700-1700 local time.
  • Remain Flexible to meet agency needs.
Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Maintain Medical Records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)
  • Report any violation relating to company policy protocol.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of all Medical Records for the USDA-APHIS customer.
  • Perform periodic audits of Medical Records to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Case Managers
  • Ensures confidentiality of Release of Information in accordance with HIPPA federal regulations, state regulations and USDA – APHIS policy
  • Appropriately escalates unresolved and frequent Medical Records issues to management.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Education and Related Experience:
  • High School Education, associate degree preferred.
  • Familiar with federal and state laws and regulations concerning Medical Records, including HIPPA standards.
  • Ability to work effectively with other departments, physicians, and all ancillary staff. Must be able to relate well to people both inside and outside the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Track record of success in a fast-paced customer service environment
  • Must have attention to detail and accuracy when reviewing documents.
  • Excellent relationship building with the ability to influence a situation to achieve the best client outcome.
Technology:
  • Intermediate computer skills are essential in the use of an electronic medical record.
Metrics:
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, verbal, and written communication skills required.
  • Strong interpersonal and troubleshooting skills required.

  • Moderate Risk Public Trust (MRPT)
Requirements:
  • Pre-employment background check mandatory
  • You must have the ability to pass a Tier 4 investigation and a Moderate Public Trust
  • Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Working Environment & Conditions
This job operates in a professional office environment and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This position is primarily indoors, consistent with a standard office position and has a noise level of mostly low to moderate. The incumbent is required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The workload may require the incumbent to sit for extended periods of time. The incumbent must be able to read, do simple math calculations and withstand moderate amounts of stress.
The incumbent must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
