Medical Office Assistant/Medical Receptionist

Essential Functions:

· Greets patients with a warm and inviting demeanor.

· Check to make sure all information on Patient Profile is correct.

· Collect any copay that is due. Manage past due balances by bringing to the attention of the patient and referring them to a Business Associate prior to being seen by the provider.

· Make sure all information that provider may need is available.

· Check patient in.

· Check out patient and schedule appropriate follow ups.

· Answer phone and direct to appropriate person or take care of call if appropriate.

· Take care of any walk in patients either scheduling them or managing their concerns.

· Assist in managing the fax inbox.

· Scheduling radiology, imaging and laboratory for patients.

· Collaborate with providers and other staff as appropriate.

· Fax chart notes to PCP.

· Scans and files all documents as appropriate.

· Ensure provider schedule is filled and managed.

· Performs similar and incidental duties as assigned.

Experience

· Associate’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Plus 1 year related experience as a medical receptionist

· Knowledge of Medical Office operations

· Critical thinker

· Proficient in Work, Excel and email.

· Proficient in an EMR preferably eClinicalWorks

CANDIDATE MUST SHOW PROOF OF COVID VACCINATION TO BE HIRED.

· Ability to use standard business and medical equipment such as phone, fax, computer, photocopier, scale, stethoscope, etc.

· Ability to interface with people using tact and diplomacy.

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

· Excellent problem solving skills.

· Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to work under pressure.

· Excellent telephone etiquette.
