Lincare offers a complete enteral nutrition program, as prescribed by practitioners, with optional assistance from our registered dietitians. This includes enteral nutrition formulas, a wide range of feeding tube supplies, and equipment suited to patients’ needs. As a Medical Nutrition Coordinator, you will assist the center and area dietitians in care coordination and patient follow-up and be generally responsible for evaluating patient adherence to practitioner orders.
Job Responsibilities:
- Gathers necessary information from referral sources to ensure insurance coverage of each enteral patient
- Follows up on necessary paperwork to ensure payment for services rendered
- Maintains patient records in a complete and organized manner in compliance with accreditation standards
- Provides patient education as an intricate part of the patient care activity, according to the patient’s need and Lincare policy
- Performs complete and professional patient assessments in accordance with Lincare policies and procedures
- Provides patient care, treatment, and service in a continuous and coordinated manner in settings appropriate to meet patient needs
- Maintains current knowledge of enteral home care techniques and relevant enteral therapy concepts
- Represents Lincare through professional personal appearance, patient care activities, and content of written reports
- Promotes safe, effective patient and organizational environments, as well as feeding equipment use
- Drives to admit, deliver, and pick up such items as enteral formula, feeding pump(s), IV poles, and/or related feeding supplies to patients' homes or places of business
- Responsible for National On-Call not to exceed 6 shifts per year
- Participates in ongoing education that includes in-services, training, and other activities to maintain and improve individual competence
Qualifications:
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Calculate figures and amounts such as commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Should have knowledge of basic Microsoft Office skills, using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Education and Experience:
- Experience/Education in Dietetics, Nutrition, Home Health, or Nursing is strongly preferred
- One year of experience in billing preferred.
