Position Description:
Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for the performance of routine and special laboratory assays of patient specimens in a designated laboratory. Performs various microscopic, chemical, hematological, immunologic, or bacteriologic assays according to established standards. Calibrates and operates all instruments and equipment according to preventive maintenance schedule. Records and enters test results. Also directs and guides patient/family teaching and collaborates activities with patient care personnel while maintaining standards of professional laboratory services. Contributes to laboratory and the hospital through support of philosophy, objectives, educational, and research efforts.
