Medical Laboratory Technician

SynergenX is looking for a Full-time Lab Technician with ASCP Certification to join our team with 3 shifts to choose from!

General Description: The Lab Technician will have experience in working under possibly hazardous conditions (e.g. pathogens or chemicals). They will be well-trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that makes things move forward. The Lab Technician will be handling sensitive equipment to analyze samples or substances and conduct tests reporting findings to a laboratory manager. In addition, the Lab Technician will have responsibilities related to information processing, training and quality control within the laboratory. Must have an ASCP Certification.

Job Skills and Responsibilities:

• Perform technical laboratory functions for immunoassay testing. Report test results following clinic protocols alerting providers and/or nurses about abnormal results. Ensure quality control in collecting specimens, ensure appropriate sampling and maintain accurate record keeping.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies. Set up, maintain, calibrate, clean, and test sterility of Medical Laboratory equipment
• Comply with all laboratory policies and OSHA regulations related to safety, cleanliness and infection control
• Serve as a back-up to the Lab Manager as needed
• Knowledge of Medical Laboratory principles, standards, applications and tests.
• Knowledge of Medical Laboratory safety, cleanliness and infection control policies and regulations.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Associates Degree MLT with ASCP certification.
• 1-2 years' experience in lab environment (experience with Beckman DXI600 is a plus)
• Must be able to work independently without supervision on site
• All labs to be run and resulted before leaving shift
• Maintenance to be run machine as specified by manufacture or procedures established

Shifts:

AM - 6am-230pm

PM -2pm-10:30pm (Hours between 5pm-5am earn and extra $3 per hour)

Overnight - 10pm-6:30am (Hours between 5pm-5am earn and extra $3 per hour)

Lab runs 24/7, every other weekend is required and will be worked out with the Lab Director.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
