Required Skills

• Educational Background: A Baccalaureate degree from an approved Medical Technologist program is required. Non-traditional routes may be considered after a review of education and experience.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred.
• Certifications: Candidates must have completed the National Registry Exam for Medical Technologists, such as ASCP, and meet the requirements for certification as a Nevada General Laboratory Supervisor.
• Physical Requirements: The role requires prolonged standing/walking and the ability to lift/carry 50 lbs. Candidates must also be able to detect color differences under normal lighting conditions.

Job Description

The Medical Lab Scientist will work independently in our busy laboratory, conducting a variety of routine and complex tests. Responsibilities include ensuring the proper functioning of lab equipment, performing quality control measures, assisting in maintaining inventory, performing phlebotomy, and interpreting patient lab results. The ideal candidate will excel in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate problem-solving skills, and commit to maintaining the highest standards of lab operations.

• Licensure: Must have started the application process for Nevada General Laboratory Supervisor certification prior to hire.
• Professional Skills: Ability to work independently, strong analytical skills, and proficiency in both automated and manual lab techniques.
• Interpersonal Skills: Effective communication and the ability to collaborate with other healthcare professionals to solve problems and interpret patient lab results.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
