To prospective leaders,

I am the system Medical Director at SSM St. Joseph West Hospital in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. I have been a part of Sound Physicians since 2017. I’m proud of the hospitalist practice we have built and welcome interest from physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) coming out of training or desiring a career change. People

• We are seeking a full-time Medical Director to lead our fantastic team.
• We are an established team of 16 physicians and six advanced practice providers (APPs), with the support of a clinical performance nurse and hospitalist coordinator.
• Our team comprises clinicians from all over the world with varying degrees of education and experience. This has provided an environment of support, learning, and growth in our day–to–day work.

Practice

• We are a medium-sized community hospital with very strong subspecialty support. We welcome the challenge of treating a wide variety of patient concerns. We support a semi-open ICU with full intensivist coverage 24 hours a day. Our team is not expected to do procedures or run codes.
• As Medical Director, you will have the responsibility to our team as day-to-day supervisor, serving as an active lead in meetings within our team and the hospital, managing and leading our team in exceeding quality and budgetary goals, and partnering with recruitment in ensuring our team is staffed appropriately; all with support of myself and our regional leaders.
• Most of us like to spend time with our families or in the outdoors, so some flexibility in your day is available. While generally working seven on/off, our schedules are predictable, and we cover for each when we take time off.
• We work in EPIC, with access to our own internal informatics platform.
• Our compensation package is highly competitive and offers the opportunity to earn additional income in the form of productivity and quality bonuses.
