Medical Courier 2Nd And 3Rd Shift

Summary:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. As a Medical Courier Specialist, you will be responsible for the transportation of medical items among labs, hospitals, and clinics and other health care facilities.

Responsibilities:

· Receive medical item and understand instructions from healthcare facility.

· Ensure that the medical items are securely stored in the delivery vehicle.

· Ensure that the documentation corresponds to each item.

· Ensure the punctual collection and delivery of medical items from the healthcare facility.

· Ensure that the recipients sign delivery receipts and designations are verified.

· Accurately count and take inventory of medical items to be collected and/or delivered

· Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.

· Ensure the safety of each item delivered

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

· Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

· Up to date immunization records (required)

· Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.

· Current HIPAA certification (will provide on-line course if needed)

· Valid driver’s license and clean driver record

· At least 21 years of age

· Pass drug, alcohol screening test, background, and MVR verification and screening

· 2 years’ experience as a Medical Courier

· Proficiency with a diverse staff with varied skills and cultural diversity.

· Good knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, ICD and CPT coding.
