Job description

Do you have a passion for science and medical innovations? Are you trained in writing compelling copy that converts both HCPs and patients? Have you recently completed your PhD or PharmD and are wondering what comes next? Have you ever considered the world of medical or life science marketing and communications? Do you already have years of medical copywriting experience and are looking for your next challenge? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

WireBuzz is an award-winning digital marketing agency headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ (we work fully remote). We specialize in creating and promoting high-quality videos and content that drive measurable sales and marketing results. Some of our past and present clients include 23andMe, Exact Sciences, Myriad Genetics, ThermoFisher Scientific, and Roche.

We are looking for self-motivated Freelance Medical Copywriters to support our medical, healthcare and life science client projects. Our company is growing rapidly; and we need someone who is not only a wordsmith and content marketing rockstar, but who is well-versed in genetics, medicine, and medical devices.

We have a Sr. Healthcare Strategist who helps guide our persona development, content strategy, and insight into what drives physicians, admins, and patients to make buying decisions. From that strategy, the Freelance Medical Copywriter will be responsible for the development of medical content without the need for daily supervision, as needed on new projects as they arise.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop high-quality, scientifically rigorous content that aligns with brand strategy and objectives, while adhering to referencing requirements, AMA guidelines, FDA rules and regulations, established timelines, and internal processes.
  • Collaborate with agency teams to produce educational content and video scripts in distinct therapeutic categories, ensuring the work is high quality, scientifically valid, medically accurate, and applicable clinically
  • Fact-check and annotate content in accordance with client provided clinical data
  • Attend and actively participate in internal and client-facing meetings including medical and regulatory review meetings as needed
  • Adhere to project parameters including deadlines, budget, and content limitations; alert team if job may go out of scope; proactively update project leads on job-related status and recommendations
  • Proactively lead by example to demonstrate efficiency, nimble learning, team productivity, and superior scientific quality for all deliverables.
  • Support the Production team with any questions or guidance relating to the visual representation of complex ideas/technologies
  • Adhere to all WireBuzz policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Experience with professional or university level clinical writing or publishing
  • College degree related to life sciences, medicine or pharmaceutical preferred
  • Experience in medical marketing, medical communications, or medical sales is preferred but not required
  • Able to work within multiple therapeutic areas and can quickly gain command of new areas
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret scientific data
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects with limited direction and work within tight deadlines is required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to collaborate with team members and clients
  • Familiar with PubMed, online research mediums, and other document delivery systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (ie, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
