Medical Coder Full Time

Martha Franks Retirement Community is currently seeking a Full TimeMedical Coder.

As a Medical Coder, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accurate and compliant coding of medical records and billing processes. Your expertise will contribute to the quality of healthcare services we provide and facilitate the reimbursement process. This position requires a strong understanding of medical coding guidelines, healthcare procedures, and coding software.

Key Responsibilities:

Medical Coding:

Review and analyze clinical documentation to assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and CPT codes.

Ensure that all coding is done in compliance with federal and state regulations and established coding guidelines.

Documentation Review:

Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify, amend, or enhance documentation to support accurate coding.

Identify discrepancies or missing information in medical records and work to resolve them.

Revenue Cycle Management:

Support the revenue cycle by coding and sequencing diagnoses and procedures to facilitate accurate billing and reimbursement.

Review and code various types of encounters, including inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory care.

Compliance and Auditing:

Conduct regular coding audits to assess the accuracy and compliance of coding practices.

Provide recommendations for process improvements and corrective actions as needed.

Data Reporting:

Generate and maintain reports on coding and billing activities.

Assist in the preparation of data for quality assurance, research, and billing purposes.

Training and Education:

Stay updated on changes in coding regulations and guidelines.

Provide training and support to healthcare providers and staff on coding and documentation best practices.
