The Patient Account Representative will serve as part of the Patient Financial Services department and assist in all aspects of our billing process. You will be responsible for handling each account from the beginning of the billing process to account resolution. The Patient Account Representative will ensure that accurate, ethical, and compliant billing practices are maintained. The Patient Account Representative will also ensure that compliance standards are maintained and will comply with Survival Flight's written code of conduct as well as billing practices, policies, procedures, state laws, and all Federal Health Care program requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring that files are properly and completely documented with insurance information and all other information indicating the handling of a transport.
- Following all appeals processes when insurance sources do not pay properly.
- Reviewing all refund issues promptly and noting the system account notes conspicuously and thoroughly.
- Maintain appropriate follow-up to ensure maximum reimbursement.
- First-level Medicare appeals.
- Thorough investigation of all motor vehicle accidents and research of all payer sources, including obtaining a police report in all accident cases.
- Prepare accounts for adjustments or collections, as appropriate. Preparation is to be done in accordance with established Policies and procedures.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- We encourage recent graduates to apply.
- Strong medical insurance collections background
- Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Managed care, Commercial, and Auto insurance
- Strong writing skills
- Strong communication skills
- Working Knowledge of HIPAA and compliance
- Working Knowledge ICD10 codes
- Knowledge of Excel and Word
Preferred:
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Ambulance Billing experience
- Bilingual

Salary: $21.00 - $28.00 per hour depending on experience
