Job Description
The Medical Campus Ambassador will work directly with the Director of Student Programs. They will also partner closely with our Campus Recruiters, Talent Acquisition Manager recruiting team, Regional Operations team, and hospital leaders to anticipate and meet the continuously evolving veterinary staffing needs of our hospital network. This role will be responsible for collaborating and executing on a robust campus recruiting strategy focused on Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students with such presentations as our New Graduate Mentorship program, Path to Partnership program, Internship & Residency Programs, etc. The position will engage with current DVM veterinary students at key initiative locations through various on-campus and the occasional virtual initiatives. The Campus Liaison will nurture current and new student relationships to eventually bring candidates on board at one of our practices as an active career opportunity candidate. The position will maintain and continue to build ongoing relationships with our select veterinary university partners, administration, and student organizations on campus. The position will also have significant interaction with our regional managers and hospital leaders across each practice in our network. Qualifications
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Full involvement in the consultation and recruiting process of DVM veterinary students: from outreach to consultation to engaging as a career opportunity candidate, through to the start date.
  • Coordinate and help schedule externship & career opportunity interviews; provide communication summary of candidate conversations to both partner hospital and Regional Management Team
  • Ensure company staffing and externship needs are filled in a timely manner, and that the company maintains a robust pipeline of qualified candidates.
  • Applicant phone screening: qualify potential student candidates for externships, and internships based on geography preference and hospital preferences.
  • Regular follow up with respective Partner Veterinarians, Regional Managers and Practice Managers to ensure timeliness of the externship and recruitment process.
  • DVM student community consultation and outreach to engage externship and career opportunity candidates.
  • Help continue to build and maintain a robust Applicant Tracking System and Recruiting CRM with relevant metrics and candidate data.
  • Assist in developing and implementing strategic university initiatives at select university locations for recruiting diverse DVM student talent across our multi-state network.
  • Utilize social media and other networking platforms to build candidate pipeline by showcasing program participation and successes.
  • Promote and educate DVM students on AAH branded programs. (Mentorship, Path to Partnership, and Internship Programs)
  • Lead in-house student and CE webinars. (Student Mentorship Series and NAVLE Prep webinars)
  • Work directly with the Talent Acquisition Management team to assist in mentorship conversations with students with new/outstanding offers to help convert into hires when needed.
  • Host lunch and dinner meetings with on campus organizations and clubs such as VBMA, SCAVMA and other meetings to ensure AAH is well represented and viewed as Employer of Choice among the students in these groups.
  • Create Educational Lunch and Learn content: medical educational lectures, on campus or virtual learnings, case review presentations etc.
  • DVM student community support and outreach to engage externs and career opportunity candidates as needed through personal discussions around mentorship, path to partnership.
  • Collaborate with Student Programs to create and present educational material/ presentations at accredited DVM programs that limit access to DVM's and AAH as needed.
  • Engage in veterinary student related activities and participate as needed in cross functional projects.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Student Programs and team for any campus-related events as needed. (On-campus & virtually)
  • Acts as an ambassador for AAH's brand in partnership with veterinary colleges and universities.
  • Up to 70% travel may be expected during peek travel season.

Additional Information
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
+ Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time.
+ Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, etc. Candidate to confirm species treated with practice leadership for additional clarity.)
+ Client needs, and work volume may occasionally require more than 40 hours per week to complete essential duties of this job. This position may require special working hours, including working weekends, evenings and/or holidays.
+ Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.
+ The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Ear plugs will be available upon request.
+ Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.
+ Ability to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds.
+ Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.
+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
+ Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
