This is NOT a remote position and all candidates will be expected to work in-office.
About Us:
Akamai Practice Management develops software and provides receivables management services to Hawaii's independent physician community from our offices in Honolulu and Kapolei. We are well respected by the local medical community and work with about a third of the independent physicians statewide. Due to the exceptional work of our employees, virtually 100% of our clients recommend us to their colleagues.
We have been in this business for 35 years and are considered among the most knowledge institutions about physician reimbursement in Hawaii.
Akamai is an entrepreneurial environment where every employee makes a difference. If you like the idea of working on a small responsive team where your efforts are well appreciated, by clients and co-workers alike, we may be a good fit.
The Opening:
We are looking for a person to join our training/support staff. The right person will assist our clients on the optimal use of our practice Management Software. To keep this person’s skills at the highest level, they will also be assigned a small physician account to manage themselves.
The trainer will be working out of Akamai's Honolulu office, but may occasionally be called upon to train at our client offices. They will become intimately familiar with the operation of our software and become one of the key experts in its use. They will learn to troubleshoot client problems and independently resolve them. It is envisioned that this person will eventually:
- Become a go-to “subject matter expert” on all aspects of our software, so users have a knowledgeable resource when there are questions
- Train the staff of new clients on the functions they would be using in their own offices
- Create training materials
- Work with our development staff to suggest and test new software features
- Fine tune our training program so it can be replicated in the classroom, or online, for new users
This new trainer will be reporting to our Director of Training and Software Support, and will work alongside two others with similar roles.
A knowledge of medical office operations and at least two years’ experience as a medical biller are required. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be comfortable with Word and Excel. Special consideration will be given to applicants who have additional experience in software training.
We have a great team of supportive co-workers and offer a competitive compensation package which includes fully paid medical/dental/vision coverage, paid vacation, paid holidays, a retirement plan with company contributions and profit sharing.
If you are a great communicator, have knowledge about the way things work in a physician’s practice and perhaps have a flair for understanding accounting, we would love to hear from you!
