Medical Billing Team Lead- AR

CRH Healthcare, headquartered in Atlanta, GA, is a patient-focused operator of urgent care centers in Alabama, Georgia, Maryland and Florida. CRH’s centers are open seven days a week and provide walk-in care for injury, illness and minor emergencies as well as occupational medicine for employers such as drug screens and physicals.

CRH is currently seeking a Medical Billing Team Lead- (AR) for the Billing Department located in Fayetteville, GA. This position will be responsible for processing charges and billing claims for our clinics.

The Medical Billing Team Lead coordinates the work of Billing Specialists. Resolves more complex inquiries and/or complaints escalated by the Billing Specialists. Performs all duties of the Billing Specialist listed below. Communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Motivates team members and assesses performance. Communicates concerns and policies among management and team members. This role reports to the Revenue Cycle Supervisor, up to the VP of Billing Operations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates deadlines to billing staff.
  • Ensure staff complete all assigned tasks in a timely manner and that they have the resources and tools to perform their jobs. Advise management immediately if they do not.
  • Assists in areas of needs as assigned by management.
  • Coordinates with manager/director to prioritize assignments based on current issues and business needs.
  • Promotes teamwork, remaining available to assist staff as needed.
  • Lead a team of billing specialists and coach to do AR follow up. Guide team to reduce AR ageing and optimize collections.
  • Manage day-to-day activities with the team.
  • Manage 1st level escalations.
  • Perform quality check on the A/R follow-up or EOB denial analysis work done by the Billing Team.
  • Monitoring and managing workflow and assignments to staff.
  • Tracking and maintaining metrics for a variety of data includes attendance, productivity, etc.
  • Develop processes to improve productivity and quality of the team.
  • Mentor Billing Team. Supervise and train staff or new trainees and encourage good A/R follow-up skills and work ethic.
  • Work with managers to resolve any personnel problems or conflicts that may arise in the team.
  • In addition to administrative responsibilities, the Team leader may be expected to perform follow-up work as well depending upon the requirement.
  • Identify trends within the portfolio to aid collections and improve the productivity.

Experience Requirements

  • Medical billing: 1 year (Required)
  • Accounts receivable: 2 years (Required)
  • Urgent Care billing experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Monitor the daily workload of team members
  • Answer incoming patient calls
  • Respond to escalated patient issues
  • Answer patient inquiries about their bill and balance
  • Train and provide support to new or less experienced team members.
  • Resolve issues with patient insurance and demographic inaccuracies
  • Setup payment plans for patients
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time
  • High school diploma is required. Associate degree is a plus.
